Niswa Association was founded to help Muslim, Middle Eastern, South Asian, and other immigrant families navigate life with dignity, stability, and culturally responsive support.
In the 1970s, as immigration from Asian and Middle Eastern countries grew, there were almost no services to help families integrate into their new communities. Few organizations offered multilingual support or the cultural understanding families needed.
Niswa was formally founded in 1990 as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with the purpose of helping Muslim, Middle Eastern, South Asian, and other immigrant families function at a positive optimum level.
Since its inception, Niswa has provided the services people need to stand on their own feet and live the American dream. Today, we continue to listen first and build practical paths toward safety and stability.
Our work is grounded in one belief: every family deserves support that respects its language, culture, and lived experience.
Committed community leaders who help guide Niswa’s mission and keep our work accountable to the families we serve.
